Defrost directly after pick up!
To defrost:
Remove turkey from the box, leave wrapped, and place in the refrigerator leaving room around it so
air can circulate. 24 hours before heating check the turkey to insure it has defrosted by sticking a clean
steak knife in the stuffing. If still frozen take appropriate action to defrost.
To heat:
Approximate heat times
- Put about 1 inch of water in the pan 11—14 lbs. 2 1/2 hours
- Leave the foil on the turkey 15—18 lbs. 3 hours
- Place in a preheated 325degree oven 19—24 lbs. 31/2 hours
24—27 lbs. 4 hours or longer
**All times are approximate and are influenced by your equipment. The USDA recommends reheating to
165 degrees F.
GRAVY
If frozen defrost in the refrigerator or use your defrost function on the microwave.
To heat:
Empty gravy container into a sauce pan and place on medium low heat, stirring frequently until hot. Gravy
may also be heated in the microwave. Be sure to loosen the cover before microwaving. The USDA
recommends reheating to 165 degrees F.
